At Computex, a yearly trade show where chip and hardware manufacturers come to showcase their latest devices (computers) and technology, has begun and held in Taiwan. There have been some really interesting updates ranging from Monitors to laptops, processor chip, GPU etc but what I really want to look at in this article are the dual screen laptops.
About a week ago, Lenovo teased a fullscreen foldable laptop preparing for 2020 and although it was just a prototype, it brings a whole new approach to the computing space. At Computex Tapai, Asus, Intel and HP have introduced insane dual-screen laptops, the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo, Intel’s gaming laptop called the “Honeycomb Glacier” and the HP Omen X 2S gaming laptop.
These Laptop devices feature groundbreaking specs and are exceptionally good. Talk about the design and tech specs, you definitely would want to have one for yourself.
Let’s meet the new beasts
Asus Zenbook Pro Duo
The Zenbook Pro Duo features a 15.6-inc 4K UHD main display with 16:9 aspect ratio and a secondary screen of a 14-inch 4K UHD display. The secondary display is called ScreenPad Plus, with a 32:9 aspect ratio.

Just like the Zenbook Pro 14, the company has crafted the software in such a way that the secondary screen can be used separately or as an extension of the primary display. Asus has carefully placed the physical keyboard just below the secondary screen.
The device is powered by the most recent Intel’s 9th generation Core i9-9980HK processor assisted with a whopping 32GB RAM for smooth multitasking. As for the GPU, the device houses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB GDDR6 VRAM) to take care of the graphics.

The laptop comes with 1TB PCIe x4 SSD support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and IR webcam. The laptop also comes with four far-field mics to trigger assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana.
Although the Zenbook Pro Duo isn’t labeled a gaming laptop, it perfectly fits into the category. However, the laptop is targeted toward content creators which I believe will be welcome it with open hands.
Asus also unveiled a stripped down version of the Zenbook Duo which features a 14-inch full HD main screen and a 12.6-inch secondary full HD screen. It’s powered by an Intel Core i7 processor with up to 16GB RAM.
The Asus Zenbook Pro Duo starts selling for $2,500 and available globally via online retails stores. The laptop is a very good option for creators and gamers.
Intel’s Honeycomb Glacier – Gaming Laptop
The Honeycomb’s looks very similar to the Zenbook Pro Duo in the first look, but, Intel has added a twist to the laptop. The laptop features a 15.6-inch FHD primary display and a 12.3-inch secondary display with a resolution of 1920×720.

The Honeycomb Glacier comes with a hinge that extends the main screen up when opened to any degree of your choice while pulling the secondary display along with it. The main screen can easily be rolled back to the normal form thanks to the one-way roller clutch mechanism, with a little black button on the left side, you can adjust the clutch to return to its original form.
The upper hinge also packs a Tobie Eye tracker which will allow you to easily control the secondary display using your eyes.
In terms of under the hood specifications, the Honeycomb Glacier boasts of an overclocked 45W Core i9 processor accompanied by NVIDIA GTX 1070.
As of now, there’s now word about the Pricing and availability as well as other specs of the Honeycomb Clacier gaming laptop, but it’s sure going to cost a big-budget.
HP Omen X 2S – Gaming Laptop
Omen X 2S comes with a 15-inch 1080P main display, the secondary display is way smaller compared to the Zenbook Pro Duo and Honeycomb Glacier. It uses a 6-inch, 1080p display which can also do pretty much everything the above mention can do.
It also has it mouse touchpad on the left, two USB ports along with a lan port, HDMI port, earphone and charging port are found on the left side of the main panel while on the right side, there’s a single USB and what looks like a mini HDMI port.
The Omen X 2S sports the latest 9th-generation Intel Core-i9 8-core CPU (with 5 GHz overclocking), paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU and a 32GB RAM for smooth multitasking experience. The laptop is equipped with up to 2TB SSD storage and also comes with a fancy new 5-way airflow cooling system (two inlets at the bottom plus three outlets on the sides), and the CPU’s been pre-applied with Thermal Grizzly’s “liquid metal” CPU thermal paste, which has “10 times” the thermal conductivity of regular silicon grease, according to HP.
The HP Omen is expected to be available in the US from June with a starting price of $2,100.
