We all know Android Pie is the latest Android version from Google and already device many manufacturers have been pushing the update to their devices, and now Huawei is finally rolling out Android Pie update for it users after a big announcement at the IFA 2018. The Android Pie beta is based on the company Huawei of EMUI 9 software and below is the list of devices getting this update.
EMUI 9 Beta Based on Android Pie
We all know the Android Pie has brought a lot of changes ranging from UI to the Performace of the Android OS and also, we’ve seen some new features too, features like the iPhone X Gesture navigation, Digital Wellbeing, revamped Notification panel and many more.
There are still a lot of devices that are yet to receive the Android Pie update, and while their is no update from other manufacturers yet, Huawei has decided to add its devices to the update list and surprise it users.

EMUI 9 New features and improvements:
Like with every OEM manufacturers, Huawei’s EMUI 9 Android Pie also brings new and exciting features like UI improvements, which includes Huawei’s own digital wellbeing features to limit of app usage and “wind down” feature, gesture navigation based on Android Pie — Up swipe opens recent apps, and an inward swipe from the left takes you back.
The setting app also gets a revamped visual look with artistic illustrations and also, you have the controls and tabs moved to the bottom of the screen for easy access (Huawei apps).
How to get EMUI 9 beta:
If your device is listed above and you want to try the EMUI 9 beta software update, follow the step by step guide below to download and install the Android Pie-based EMUI 9 for your Huawei device:
- First off, visit Huawei’s Friendly User Test page.
2. Tap on the “Download” button to download the User Test app.
3. Once downloaded, install the app on your device.
- Now, sign up for an account if you don’t have one already
- In the app, tap on Personal → Join project
5. Select the EMUI 9 project and tap on sign up
Once you’ve complete the Android Pie beta program process, you will receive an OTA update after a few minutes, download and install.
Note: You should have a battery percent of about 50 – 60 before you proceed to install the update. That’s it.
