Xiaomi might have to work out a good strategy in other to take on Samsung in the smartphone space this year. We all have known Samsung to be a pricey company but the new Galaxy M series has changed that. This is no surprise as the company’s CEO DJ Koh has already said in an interview with CNBC last year that the world will get to see affordable mid-range yet powerful phones from Samsung in 2019.
Samsung has now launched it’s much-awaited Galaxy M series in India, the device comes in form of the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 and more are expected to follow soon. India is the first country to welcome the new Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphone and as expected, the new smartphone features the new Infinity-V display.

Both smartphone – Galaxy M10 and Galaxy 20 are primarily aimed at the domestic markets and the pricing is a thing for Xiaomi to now worry about. With the Galaxy M10 and M20 launch, the South Korean tech gaint, Samsung will now be competing in the budget phone segment which is currently being topped by the Chinese phone makers, Xiaomi.
Samsung Galaxy M10 specifications:
The Samsung Galaxy M10 features a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V display, a single front-facing camera and a dual-rear camera with LED flash. The phone is a dual-SIM smartphone and it comes with support for 4G VoLTE. Also, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack along with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. The M10 doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, too bad, but there is Face Unlock option.
The device comes with a 2GB+16GB storage option and a 3GB+32GD storage option and can further be expanded via an SD card up to 512GB. Galaxy M10 and is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The device run the most recent Android 8.1 Oreo OS with Samsung Experience UI 9.5.
As for the photography aspect, the Samsung Galaxy M10 comes with a dual-lens rear camera with a 13MP primary sensor plus a 5MP secondary sensor with 120-degrees ultra-wide angle lens. As for the selfie cam, there is a 5MP camera with face unlock security.
The device is powered by a 3,400mAh battery and comes with microUSB port for charging and data transfer needs. There is Widevine L1 certification as well.
Samsung Galaxy M20 specifications:
The Samsung Galaxy M20 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Infinity-V display, it also sports a single selfie cam and a dual-rear cam. It is dual-SIM smartphone and it cones with support for 4G VoLTE too. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also present along with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device and there is support for Face Unlock as well.
Galaxy M20 also comes in two storage option, there is a 3GB+32GB storage option and a 4GB + 64GB storage option expandable up to 512GB via micro SD cards. It is powered by Samsung’s recently launched Exynos 7904 octa-core processor clocked at new 1.8GHz. The device also runs Samsung Experience 9.5 UI based on the most recent Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with a dual-lens rear camera with a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degrees ultra-wide angle. For the selfie cam, it packs an 8MP camera.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and this is one of the most interesting feature the device brings. There’s a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer needs. Samsung has added a 15W charger with the phone for quick charge and there is Widevine L1 certification along with support for Dolby Atmos audio.
