Google has not recorded a lot of success in terms of messaging services recently. Google’s Allo will now be added to the list failed messaging Apps as the company is set to give up on Allo. In the last few years, we’ve seen Wave, Buzz go down. It was recently we aired the news of Google plus shutting down.
Although Google plus loyalists are giving it a very good fight, possible reconsideration from the company was slated for this December which seems impossible now. Allo has just been a victim of its not so popular status if you ask me. Who knows, Hangouts or Duo might just be next since Google is now known to cut ties with underperforming platforms.

Above are quotes from the blog post announcing not so good news. Allo, just like Facebook’s WhatsApp uses phone numbers as identifiers, can send files, voice notes, images and a list of others. Allo adds Virtual Assistant features as an extra to its capabilities. By March 2019, Allo will shut down completely. The Google App is survived by majorly Duo for video calling and Hangouts for group chat.
How To Backup Your Chats On Allo
Allo will continue to work till March 2019, but before total lockdown, users are advised to export all of their chat histories from the app. In order to download all the chat history, open the Allo app, head to settings » Chat and then select either Export messages from chats or Export stored media from chats. Choose the most suitable option for you.
