Now You Can Switch Between Tabs in Google Chrome With Horizontal Card Switcher

Most android apps have been doing a lot of updates recently just like Mozilla launching firefox quantum. Google chrome has to make a statement as well and might just be dropping the vertical arrangement in the next update of the app as these have been seen in chrome canary.

From all indications, Google chrome will go to the Opera. Opera mini and other versions of the browser are popularly known for their Horizontal tab-listing. Whenever you are switching between tabs or opening a new tab, the tabs are arranged and listed in a straight horizontal line format.

The vertical arrangement seems to be way clustered and unkempt. When chrome users like me open a lot of tabs at the same time, it is difficult to select a new active tab as things gets jam-packed. It shows only one screen in its entirety and the others are superimposed. The model, which makes it difficult to choose in some situations, may be close to an end.

Instead of displaying one tab behind the other, the application puts the screens side by side. The new look makes the screen a little cleaner since it would show fewer tabs at a time. On the other hand, it hinders the work of those who often use multiple tabs at the same time.

How to enable Horizontal Tab Switcher in Google Chrome settings

To test the change, you need to have the latest version of Chrome Canary on Android. In the app’s address bar, type “chrome://flags” and search for “Enable horizontal tab switcher”. Enable this option and restart the browser with the “Relaunch Now” button.

The test is not a guarantee that the change will be released to the default version of Google Chrome. In some cases, changes made in Canary like the switch between tabs feature are waived before even reaching a larger group of users.
