Hey guys, in this guide you’ll learn how to tweak your manufacturer info on your Windows PC and also add custom OEM logo with the help of simple registry hack we’ll be discussing later in this article. You’ll be able to change your device OEM information according to your wish e.g. Manufacturers name, model, etc.

If you’ve ever bought a brand new preloaded PC like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. You’ve likely seen their custom info in the System properties segment of the Windows Control Panel which includes the manufacturer’s name, system model, support website, company’s logo, etc.
However, if you’ve bought a FreeDOS PC and you performed a clean installation of Windows OS, then you’re likely not going to see any of the above-mentioned information on the properties of your system.
Gratefully, clients can include or alter these properties reasonably effectively, which can prove to be useful in case you’re building PCs for others or you simply want to add some sort of identification for your PC.
Editing your device OEM information requires you to make some registry edit. Tweaking your system’s registry may be a bit complicated and messing with it may result in a malfunctioning PC/Laptop. To edit your OEM info correctly, simply follow the guide ahead.

Tweaking your device OEM info and adding a custom logo or your own image is pretty simply, follow the step by step guide below.
Step 1. To alter your registry, first, open the “Run” window by using key combination WIN + R.
Step 2. Type “Regedit” and hit Enter or click OK to open the Windows Registry Editor. You will be prompt to allow access to User Account Control; click “Yes” to grant.
Step 3. Locate the OEMInformation directory by following the path below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation

Note: In case you’re working with a fresh installed Windows OS, these properties will probably be missing. To add records, just right click on OEM Infomation folder and select.
- Now add new records of string values like this: Name = Manufacturer Data = “Name you want to display”
- Name = Model Data = “Model you want to display”
- Name = SupportURL. Data = “website you want it to navigate to”
See example below:
Once you choose what sort of data you need to record in your Control Panel, just click on the data and modify.

Step 5. To add custom OEM logo which can also be your cropped picture, reduce the span of your picture to close to 150 pixels wide or tall and make it as a 24-bit bitmap (BMP) picture record for best appearance. If you already have a logo or picture to use, simply convert it to a 24-bit bitmap. Now save the image somewhere, I recommend saving it in the system32 folder on your C: drive “C:WindowsSystem32”.
Now add a record like this for the image
Name >> Data
Logo >> “Path of the image to display”
It should look like this “C:WindowsSystem32oemlogo.bmp” without quotes
If all the properties are properly added, then you’ll see all the details of the record displayed on the systems properties segment on the control panel.
That’s it, now you’ve learned how to add custom OEM logo in your Windows PC and other manufacturer information. Don’t forget to share if this post was helpful.
