Infinix Smart 2 Will Be The First Infinix Device To Receive Android Pie

We all know the Android Pie is the latest Android OS from the tech giant Google and since its official launch, many manufacturers have been pushing the software update to their devices. Now, however, Infinix has announced its first device to taste Android Pie update.

On Infinix’s official Facebook page, the company said the first of its device to receive Android 9 software update will be the recently launched Smart 2.

While this seems to be a good move by Infinix, the company has also started a controversy among fans. It’s quite funny that Inifinix Smart 2 is actually the first device getting the Pie software update because the company has also released a couple of mid-range and high-end devices that should have been listed first, not even the flagship Android One Infinix Note 5 but Infinix smart 2.

From my experience with Infinix, the company has this bad habit of concentration new software update on newer devices and leave older ones, thus fans are forced to go for their newly launched devices to enjoy the new update. Some of Infinix devices like, Hot 5, Hot 5 Pro, Hot S2, Hot S2 Pro, Note 3, Note 3 Pro, Zero 4 and Zero 4 Pro are still running Android Nougat with no hopes for getting the Oreo update not to talk of Android Pie.

The company also released devices that shipped with Oreo this year, like Hot 6, Hot S3, Hot S3X but we can only hope these devices received the new software update. However, there’s is a certainty that Infinix’s Note 5 Android One device will receive this update too. In addition, the company is also getting set to launch the Note 5 Pro.

The Android Pie software update will be released in a beta version for the Smart 2 starting October and we believe Infinix will update the list of other devices before or after that time. So, if you own an Infinix Smart 2, you should be getting ready for the big update already.
