Infinix Mobile has just launched the newest member of its ‘smart’ device series, and the successor to the 2019 Smart 4, the Infinix Smart 5. This is coming after the company launched the Infinix Smart 4 Plus in India last month with a price tag of Rs. 7,999 (~$107).
Infinix Smart 5 is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and comes with some notable upgrades over its predecessor but shares some similarities. Some of its main highlights includes a tall aspect ratio, large-sized battery, and triple rear cameras.
Infinix Smart 5 specifications
The Infinix Smart 5 is built around a 6.6-inch IPS LCD HD+ display which is the same as its predecessor and it measures 165.4 x 73.4 x 8.75mm, 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a single camera on the dot drop display and houses a triple camera on the rear along with a fingerprint sensor.
The device is driven by an octa-core MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz paired with up to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also comes with an expandable microSD card slot for additional storage.

In the camera department, there is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper with dual flash which can also work for facial recognition security. On the rear, there is a 13-megapixel main camera, and a pair of QVGA lenses all housed in a rectangle-shaped camera module. The Smart 5 device also supports DTA audio processing.
The Infinix Smart 5 runs the latest Android 10 (Go Edition) and powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports only 10W wired charging. The company claims that the device can last for up to 4 days once charged.
As for the connectivity, the Smart 5 comes with dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB, and 3.5mm audio jack.
Infinix Smart 5 pricing and availability
The Infinix Smart 5 come in two memory options, a 2GB/32GB and 3GB/64GB which will be available in black, blue, and green colour options. The device is available in Nigeria and India but only the 2GB/32GB memory option will be available for Indian fans.
The device will start selling at NGN 39,500 (~$102) in Nigeria while the Indian pricing is not known yet.
