Infinix Zero 8 with 90Hz Display, Helio G90T Gaming Chipset, 8GB RAM Launched

Earlier this month, the Infinix Zero 8 was spotted on Google’s Play Console listing with Helio G90T, 90Hz display, dual selfie camera and a 64MP quad-camera setup. The device has now made its official debut as the company’s second mid-range gaming smartphone in 2020.

The Infinix Zero 8 device is the latest offering from Infinix Mobile into the mid-range smartphone segment and can be said to be the reply to a lot of criticism from Infinix fans around the globe. It is a great improvement over the Zero 6 since the company skipped the Zero 7 and will deliver that top-notch performance fans have longed for.

There’s no doubt the Zero device is far superior to the Infinix Note 7 which launched in April with the Helio G70 gaming Soc and fans who already opted for the Note 7 may just ditch it for the Zero 8.

Infinix Zero 8 Specifications And Features

The Infinix Zero 8 features a 6.85-inch IPS LCD full-HD+ bezel-less display with a hole-punch cut out that houses two selfie cameras, a 48MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. It has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate which the company refers to as smooth display.

The device comes with a quad-camera setup on a diamond-shape bump with a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor and a quad-LED flash. Both cameras (front and rear cameras) can record video in 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps.

The device comes in plastic build, however, the minimal design with gem cut finish gives it a premium feel.

The Infinix Zero 8 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G90T gaming processor which is one of the best high-performance processor available in the mid-range segment. The G90T Soc is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which can be expanded via its dedicated micro SD card slot.

Also, there is a multi-dimensional thermal cooling technology that helps prevents the device from over heating during game play or heavy usage.

The Zero 8 runs XOS 7 based Android 10 out of the box and is fueled by a 4,500mAh battery that comes with support for 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The 33W fast charging technology will charge the device from 0 to 100 in less than 45 minutes.

As for the connectivity, the device sports dual 4G LTE Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, GPS, FM radio and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other features include a fingerprint sensor embedded right into the power button on the right side of the device, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass.

Infinix Zero 8 Pricing and Availability

The Infinix Zero 8 device will come in Silver Diamond, Black Diamond, and Green Diamond colour options with a retail price of retail of IDR 3,799,000 (~$258).
