While the iOS 14 and iPad OS 14 public release is still a few months away, Apple is continuously updating and improving its existing OS, the iOS 13 and iPad OS 13. The latest incremental update for iOS and iPad OS version 13.6.1 bring many bug fixes for all supported devices.
After the release of iOS 13.6, many iPhone users reported several bugs including system data files automatically being deleted when storage is low, a thermal management issue that caused some iPhone displays to exhibit a green tint. These are the issues all about fixing issues, and doesn’t bring any new features to the table.
iOS 13.6.1 addresses an issue that could cause unneeded system data files to not be automatically deleted when storage is low, and it addresses a thermal management issue that caused some iPhone displays to exhibit a green tint and a bug that could cause Exposure Notifications to be disabled for some users.
These issues will be addressed with the iOS and iPad OS 13.6.1. The new OS update doesn’t bring any new feature to the OS, it only focuses on fixing bugs from the previous update and is a 110MB size download.
Some reports suggest that the iOS 13.6.1 (and iPad OS 13.6.1) is likely to be one of the last updates that Apple will be pushing to the iOS 13 operating system as it has transitioned to working on iOS 14, an update that is set to be released this fall.
