November last year, iDropNews reported Apple may be launching a 5G smartphone in 2019/2020. While we’re still awaiting the rumour to be true, the vice president of a well-known Chinese company, of course, Lenovo, claims it’ll be the first company to launch a 5G smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

World’s First 5G Smartphone With Snapdragon 855 Will Come From Lenovo
The announcement appeared early on Weibo that Lenovo will be Launching a 5G smartphone before any other company. The device is expected to feature Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 855 chip.

While the Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset, Snapdragon 855 hasn’t made official debuted, it is expected to debut late this year or early 2019.
However, the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 may also feature the Snapdragon 855 since it’s expected to appear at the MCW 2019.

Before now, the race between smartphone manufacturers has been based on having the best camera, slimmer / no bezels and the best performance, but 2019 seems to be very interesting as new developments keep showing up in the smartphone world.
Besides Lenovo, a few other Chinese brands including OnePlus, Oppo, Huawei are also working on 5G smartphones.
Interestingly, Lenovo-owned brand Motorola is also gearing up to unveil a 5G Moto Mod this week. The Moto mod is expected to be unveiled alongside its upcoming Moto Z-series smartphone, the Moto Z3. The supposed flagship model is said to feature a 6.3-inch notch-style display. It is expected to have a dual camera setup with two 12MP sensors. If the report about the 5G Moto Mod turns out to be true, then Moto Z3 will be one of the first devices to support 5G network.

As of now, no other specifications of the new Lenovo device have been revealed, but since it would pack a high-performing Snapdragon chip, it’s easy to figure out it will be a flagship device.
