LG has launched a new gaming monitor under its UltraGear brand, the company today unveiled the 27GN950, the world’s first 4K IPS monitor with a 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time.
The 27-inch 27GN950 monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio with 3840 x 2160 resolution. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, which is also found on the Nubia Red Magic 5G smartphone and a 1ms response time. The monitor is certified for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible certification.
The UltraGear 27GN950 features RGB lighting on the rear, two USB 3.0 port, two HDMI port, a display port and a USB downstream port. Like the recently launched Xiaomi Mi gaming monitor, the LG UltraGear 27GN950 monitor stand supports Tilt, Height and Pivot rotation.

The monitor will also handle video editing and other graphics work nicely, all thanks to its wide range colour space. The display covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space, and it supports 10-bit colour depth for a total of 1.07 billion colours. The display can produce up to 400 nits of brightness and it has VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 certification.
With the DisplayPort, you can get 4K video with 10-bit colour at 144Hz with a single cable thanks to VESA display stream compression (DSC).
LG UltraGear 27GN950 Price and Availability
The LG UltraGear 27GN950 gaming monitor will be available in most markets starting today. While LG isn’t disclosing the official price, it is expected to start selling at £749.00 (~$950) which in Naira is about ₦368,000.
