According to NCC, had engaged stakeholders to come up with a roadmap on 5G, the Commission had also opened consultations on the spectrum for drones and it’s leading discussions on the deployment of emerging technologies.

If you’ve been following the news lately, MTN has secretly been testing indoor 5G network in SA and hope to deploy 5G before 2020.

Even though subscribers expressed their pain about the epileptic slow motion network in some locations in the country, NCC claims that 3G and 4G network are perfectly okay in the country.

Late in Dec 2018, according to NCC, The country has earmarked three spectrum bands 26 GHz, 38GHz and 42GHz bands for trial in Lagos and other parts of the country. That was also as the umbrella body of Global System for Mobile communications companies, GSM Association, GSMA highlighted modalities that would help the country achieve a robust 5G platform by 2020.
