This is not the first time that a popular/verified Twitter account has been hacked, however, the latest Twitter accounts hack puts everyone in a shock. Popular tech giants accounts including Apple, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Uber and some other has just been hacked in cypto scam.
These Twitter accounts posted some odd messages, claiming to double any amount of money sent to a bitcoin address of which some individuals may have fall victim to. The messages on each account are similar although written in a different format.
The attack seems to be coming from a single individual or maybe a group as some of the bitcoin address used on the hacked account matches.
At the moment, there’s no word on who might have carried out the attack, but Twitter posted on its support page that it is “investigating and taking steps to fix it.” Also, some owners of verified accounts were temporarily disabled, but most of them have since been restored.
Some other accounts that were hacked include CashApp, Ripple, Kanye West, Joe Biden, Mike Bloomberg, and Jeff Bezos.
According to BBC news, this happens to be the worst hack ever on a major social media platform. For now, if you notice your account or any other accounts you’re following start posting some odds Tweets likes this, its best to report it to the company. And be careful not to click on any links on these types of Tweets.
