Samsung Foldable Smartphone is Official, 12GB And 6 Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy Fold features a massive 7.3-inch Infinity Flex display in its full view which can be used as a tablet and when folded, you’ll get a 4.6-inch display.

The new form factor has brought about a sophisticated hinge system to let users easily work between the two forms.

To make sure that you are able to work between these form factors seamlessly, there’s a sophisticated hinge system. One of the interesting aspects of the large screen is the ability to run multiple apps on screen simultaneously. According to the company, the device is able to run 3-apps multitasking smoothly of which apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and Microsoft office has already been optimised for.

To ensure the multitasking is rendered smoothly on the device, the company has coupled a 12GB RAM memory, 512GB storage, and a 7nm processor. There will be an LTE version and a 5G version of the foldable phone. Galaxy Fold is expected to run Samsung’s new OneUI based on the latest Android Pie OS

The device also houses 6 cameras in total, three rear cameras, and two front-facing cameras. A 10MP is mounted on the front when the device is in its folded form, three rear cameras (a 16MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera) on the back of the device and both front-facing camera on the full-view display boast of 10MP sensor and an 8MP RGB depth camera in the notch above the larger display.

Samsung Galaxy Fold will be available in “cosmos black,” “space silver,” “Martian green,” and “Astro blue” colors. The device will be available April 26th and will start selling at a price of $1,980, which is twice and more than the price of the Galaxy Note 9. The device is regarded as a luxury phone but we’re not suprised at its pricing as earlier rumors had suggested it’ll come with a gigantic price tag.

The device packs two built-in batteries that are separated by the fold but combined in the Android operating system to give a total of 4,380 mAh. Well, Samsung isn’t the only smartphone company on the line of Foldable phone, we already say the Flexipai, Xiaomi foldable teaser, and even LG. The Galaxy Fold is looks really amazing and we’re also excited about how Samsung has faced the mid-range segment.
