Popular American action cartoon series Samurai Jack video game is finally coming to consoles and PCs. Adult Swim game announced the video game back in February, it is based on the original Samurai Jack Cartoon series, dubbed Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time.
Adult Swim released a new trailer to announce the release date of its new game while also showing off the game’s amazing environment. The trailer also showcases the character (Jack) unique combat style, weapons, and legendary characters from the Samurai Jack series.
You’ll be playing as Jack following the original series storyline where the evil shape-shifter Aku throws you (Jack) into the future, and you’ll have to fight your way back to the past and defeat Aku. You’ll be fighting familiar characters from the show and yes, Jack will meet Ashi like in the final season of the show.
Interestingly, the show’s creator Genndy Tartakovsky and Series Head Writer Darrick Bachman are also part of the team that created the Samurai Jack video game, so you can expect an interesting story and gameplay. Also, if you haven’t watched the 2D cartoon series, the game will take you through the whole adventure in 3D.
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will be released on August 21 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and the PC version of the game on Steam and Epic Games Store. You can own Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time by paying $40 starting August 21. Adult Swim Con will be revealing more details about the game in a show which will be hosted live from July 23-25.
