WhatsApp is Increasing Group Calling And Video Calling Limits

For those of us that have been using the WhatsApp group calling or video calling, WhatsApp has now decided to increase the number of participants from the initial 4 member limit to 8 participants. This step was taken due to high demand from users who would like to communicate with friends and family or schedule business meetings on WhatsApp.

The increase in the number of the group calling participants will make WhatsApp compete with popular video conferencing apps like Zoom, Hangout, Skype among others.

Starting today, the WhatsApp 8 member group call will be available in the latest WhatsApp Beta for both Android and iOS users and will be coming to the stable version of the app for everyone in the coming weeks.

If you’re a Beta user and want to try the new implementation, you need to update your app to the latest Beta version on Android (V2.20.133), and on iOS (V2.20.50.25).

Note: The new implementation may not be available to all Beta today, but should get to you soon. What do you think about this? Tell us in the comment.
