WhatsApp To Get These Awesome New Features

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new message forwarding feature and a short link feature. The message forwarding feature tagged Forwarding info and Frequently forwarded will let users get more details about a forwarded message.

Forwarding info

The message forwarding info feature will let users know how many times a particular message has been forwarded on the platform.

This information, however, will be available for sent messages only, because users can only navigate into Message Info for messages they send. Once a user forwards a message, he can tap on Message Info and know how many times a received message has been forwarded.

Frequently Forwarded

The Frequently Forwarded feature, on the other hand, is a label that will show up if one message has been forwarded more than four times. The feature is meant to help users understand when a message is popular across WhatsApp.

The tracker notes that the Forwarding Info feature does not seem to be available when a message is set as Frequently Forwarded. As mentioned, there is no clarity on when these two features will be enabled, but it should arrive in next future beta updates.

WhatsApp Short Link Feature

WhatsApp is finally bringing it short link feature to business beta on iOS version 2.19.21.5. The short link feature is already available for Android users (regular and business whatsapp)

The new short link feature allows businesses to access a short wa.me URL to share with their customers, so that they can start a WhatsApp chat with the organization. If you’re already running the latest WhatsApp, simply head to Settings to find the Short Link section.
