WhatsApp Users To Get This Awesome New Feature — Here’s How It Works

Self-destructing messages spotted on WhatsApp beta.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp Dark Mode started to roll out to users globally, buy now all WhatsApp users should already have access to the new feature. But as we all know, Dark Mode isn’t the end of development on WhatsApp.

In the latest WhatsApp beta update, a new security feature spotted by WABetainfo will be coming to WhatsApp to keep it more secure.

This new feature has been available on some popular chat platforms for some time now and some of you may be familiar with it already, this feature is self-destructing messages, it allows you to choose an expiry period for private messages.

Self-destructing messages feature can be found in two beta version of WhatsApp Messenger app, WhatsApp Beta version 2.20.83 and version 2.20.84. You can choose an expiry period for messages between one hour, one day, one week, one month or one year.

Once you set the timer on a message, a clock icon will appear next to the sent time, so you can keep track of when the message will disappear.

This feature is currently not available to all Beta users and there is no telling as to when the functionality of the self-destructing message will roll out but this tells us this is a work in progress and we may get to see it soon.
