Mi 9 is expected to use a 6.39-inch super AMOLED water drop notch display manufactured by the South Korean giant, of course, Samsung and a 3D full-curved glass body. The Mi 9 device will come with a Game Turbo feature, In-display fingerprint sensor on Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer is expected to run the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform which includes an octa-core processor, clocked at 2.84 GHz. The Snapdragon 855 also means the device will be 5G certified. Also, the device is expected to run the most recent MIUI 10 OS based on Android 9.0 Pie. The Standard version of the Mi 9 device will come in 3 storage options (6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB), there’s also a Transparent and Explorer edition which uses 8GB + 258GB and a special Transparent and Explorer edition which is expected to come with 12GB.
In the photography department, the device takes the title of the first Xiaomi smartphone with a triple camera setup. The device house a power 48MP Sony IM586 as the main sensor, a 7P lens with f/1.47 aperture while the standard uses a 48MP 6P lens with f/1.75, this is the same camera sensor we saw on Redmi Note 7. The other two camera holds a 12-megapixel secondary zoom camera, 16-megapixel wide-angle camera. The selfie camera, however, is expected to hold a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor and the standard edition will get a 20MP camera.
Battery-wise the Mi 9 didn’t get an interesting upgrade but the 3000mAh battery is still accommodating. It is equipped with 20W rapid wireless charging which is higher than the 15W wireless fast charge the Huawei Mate 20 Pro offered. Nonetheless, the battery is enough to take you a full day.
Mi 9 Price And Availability
Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to launch at a press event is scheduled for Sunday 24 February, however, the company has said the device will first be revealed in China. We expect to get more new of the Global launch at the event as well as the rumored Xiaomi foldable smartphone.
The standard 6GB/64GB version will start selling at $490, 8GB/128GB will go for $520 8/128GB and 8GB/256 at $545. The transparent and explore edition according to rumors will be priced at $885.
