Xiaomi Launches Mi Max 3 With A Massive Screen And 5500mAh Battery

On Thursday, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Max 3 model. The new phablet showcases a bigger screen, a more powerful set of cameras, a huge battery which promises 474hours standby time.

If you’re a fan of a big screen, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is definitely an option for you. Although we’ve seen a lot of devices with a massive screen, yet, the Mi Max 3 stands out to be not just a big screen device but it also packs incredible specs which makes it a device to have.

Design And Display

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 sports a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 2,160 x 1,080-pixel resolution in an 18:9 resolution. The device measures a 350 pixels-per-inch, making it one of the sharpest phones we’ve ever seen.

On the front view, you’ll find the front-facing camera along with the earpiece. A headphone jack is present on top of the device and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.

When you look on the back, the device holds a dual-camera setup and a fingerprint sensor aligned in the middle beneath the camera. Overall the device weighs only 221 grams.

Hardware And Software

The device boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor backed by 4GB/6GB of memory. Adreno 509 GPU is on board to power the graphics rendering and 128GB internal storage to take care of your files and data.

Mi Max 3 will ship with the latest Android 8.1 OS under the company’s MIUI 9.5 custom ROM. The device is most like to receive the next flagship custom ROM update for Android P, the MIUI 10 update.

However, the phone also bags some other cool tech, which includes A.I. scene recognition in the camera, facial unlocking, and a voice assistant.

Camera

In the camera department, you have a dual-camera setup (12 MP camera (f/1.9, 1.4μm) + 5 MP (depth sensor)) placed vertically, having the LED flash separating them in the middle and a front-facing camera with 8 MP sensor (f/2.0, 1.12μm).

Battery

We all know most modern flagships devices launch with around 3,000mAh battery to 4,000mAh, but, Mi Max 3 sits on a massive 5,500mAh battery with standby time of 474hours.

The phone is also equipped with QuickCharge 3.0, of which the company claims will charge the battery from 0 to 71 percent in an hour.

Release Date And Price

According to the Chinese tech company, the device will only be available in China, for now, starting at 1,699 yuan for the regular with 64GB storage, approximately $250 while the 128GB variant will sell $351+
