Xaiomi has today launched the successors of the most talked-about Redmi Note 7 series, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. Redmi Note 8 Pro takes the title of the very first smartphone to launch with a 64MP camera in the world.
Redmi Note 8 packs notable upgrades over its predecessor, from design to features and more interestingly, it comes at a pocket-friendly rate. Note 8 falls under the mid-range category, however, it packs features you’ll be looking for in high-end devices.

Redmi Note 8 launches with 6.3″ LCD screen offering Full HD+ resolution. It comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear and a selfie shooter on the waterdrop notch. A fingerprint scanner is also located at the back of the device and it appears in colourful gradient finish.
A 3.5 mm audio jack is present and a dual stereo speaker at the bottom of the device.
While Redmi Note 7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 mobile platform, the Note 8 gets an upgrade to the Snapdragon 665 Soc based on the 11nm process. The SoC has eight Kryo 260 cores – four of them clocked at 2.2 GHz, the other clocked at 1.8 GHz.

The device will be available in three storage option, a 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and a 6GB/128GB option. The storage can be expanded further up to 256GB via micro SD card slot.
Redmi Note 8 comes with the same camera spotted on Note 7, however, it packs additional two cameras for better photo quality. A 48MP main camera which uses the latest Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor. 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2 MP dedicated macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The front panel, however, sports a 13 MP selfie camera. Both cameras are AI-powered and pack features like Bokeh, portrait, wide-angle, AR etc.
Note 8 houses a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 18W charging speeds and USB-C port.

The device will be priced at CNY999 ($140/€125) for the 4/64 GB option, 6/64 GB for CNY1,199 ($167/€150) and 6/128 GB for CNY1,399 ($195/€175).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro features a bigger screen display, it comes with a 6.53-inches display with a 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear while having the fingerprint scanner align on the camera panel.
On the teardrop screen also is a single selfie shooter. Looking into the details, the 64MP main camera is assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide angle, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro combo camera.
The front-facing camera is equipped with a 20MP with AI features and scene recognition options.
Under the hood is a Mediatek’s Helio G90T gaming-focused processor, also making the Note 8 the first smartphone to integrate the new SoC platform. Since the device is designed with gamers in mind, the company has added a liquid cooling chamber in case of unexpected heating from the gaming chipset.
There is also the feature to connect both to Wi-Fi and 4G. It will be available in two storage option, a 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB storage.

Redmi Note 8 Pro also gained 500mAh to its battery, giving it a total 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging technology.

The device will start selling from CNY1,399 ($195/€175) for the 6/64GB storage option while the 8GB/128GB option goes for CNY1,799 ($250/€225).
