Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 And Note 8 Pro To Launch August 29 – Specs And Price

Xiaomi confirms the Redmi Note 8 will be powered by the flagship MediaTek Helio G90T processor

The South Korean tech giant, Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Note 8 device will be launching August 29, 2019. After several rumors and leaks, the company is finally bringing the Redmi Note 8 device to the light. Redmi Note 8 will be launched alongside the Pro version which everyone seems to be talking about.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 will come with a snapdragon 665 mobile platform, an upgrade over the snapdragon 660 we saw on the Redmi Note 7. Note 8 Pro, on the other hand, will be powered by the flagship MediaTek G90-T which is according to reports is better than the Snapdragon 710 processor.

The standard Redmi Note 8 will feature a 48MP camera as its predecessor, the Pro version, however, will incorporate Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL sensor which is 38% bigger than the 48MP sensor used in the Redmi Note 7 series and will offer 9248 x 6936 pixel resolution.

While Redmi Note 7 uses a dual-camera setup on the rear, Note 8 has added two more to make a quad-camera setup while offering features like super wide-angle camera, depth of field camera, and a super macro lens. Redmi Note 8 is expected to feature the Infinity-O (hole-punch display) while the Pro version will get an Infinity-U (water-drop notch display).

Although many users dislike the choice of MediaTek processor on the Note 8 Pro, you should also note that it is based on the 12nm processor. The MediaTek Helio G90T features MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology to boost the mobile gaming experience, supports up to 10GB of RAM, CPU speeds of up to 2.05GHz, 64MP single camera and multi-camera combinations, quad pixel technology for night shot mode, triple-ISP design and AI facial detection.

Interestingly, the Helio G90T offers dual Wi-Fi Connections that allows a single smartphone antenna to be connected to two Wi-Fi bands (2.4GHz/5GHz) or two routers simultaneously.

Both devices will run the latest Android 9.0 Pie OS and will be available in different storage options. Both devices will pack a 4500mAh battery with fast charging technology. At the moment, there aren’t enough details about the tech spec and features, so you may want to stick around to get more updates once the device launches.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Price And Availablity

The Redmi Note 8 device is expected to start selling at N75,000 while Note 8 Pro is expected to start selling at N150,000 and will be available in China first. The Global version, however, will be communicated as time goes.
